Beneficiary review

List every life insurance policy, retirement account and other account that allows a beneficiary designation.Confirm each current primary beneficiary and contingent beneficiary directly with the company that holds the policy or account.Check that names, contact details and relationships are current and spelled correctly.Record the date you last reviewed each beneficiary designation.

Coverage inventory

List each policy number, carrier, coverage amount and customer-service contact.Store policy information somewhere your trusted person can locate without sharing passwords publicly.Review whether current coverage still matches your debts, income responsibilities, dependents and final-expense goals.

People and records

Choose at least one trusted person who knows where your important records are kept.Create an emergency contact list with phone numbers and email addresses.Make a simple list of recurring bills, financial accounts and insurance contacts that may need attention during an emergency.
