What Information Do I Need for a Homeowners Insurance Quote?

A homeowners quote usually starts with the property itself: the address, year built, heated square footage, number of stories, exterior construction, roof type and age, foundation, and the age or type of major systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and the water heater.

The carrier may also need to understand how the property is used and what could affect the risk. That can include occupancy, mortgage information, protective devices, pools, trampolines, dogs, detached structures, solar panels, prior insurance, and recent claims or losses.

Florida properties may have additional inspection or wind information available. If you already have documents such as a current declarations page, wind mitigation report, or 4-point inspection, the C.H.A. quote intake lets you upload those securely rather than retyping every detail.

The goal is not to make you become an insurance underwriter. If you do not know an answer, say that instead of guessing. C.H.A. can identify what still needs to be verified before a carrier quote is finalized.
